Management
The YMCA of Madison County is governed by a Board of Directors
consisting of YMCA members. They are elected to 3-year terms.
The Board establishes policies, sets membership fees, employs
the professional staff and oversees operation of the YMCA. The
professional staff carries out the policies set by the Board
and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, along with
the remaining staff. The Board of Directors is selected by members
of the YMCA at the Annual Meeting. All adult members are voting
members and invited to attend the Annual Meeting each March.
Date and time will be posted in the Front Lobby. |

United
Way
The YMCA is a certified agency of the United Way of Madison
County. This means that the YMCA receives a portion of the funds
raised during the annual United Way fundraising campaign. This
money is used to help provide programs, services and memberships
to individuals and families. Please help the YMCA and other
community agencies by giving to the United Way. |

Character
Development
A person of strong character strives to do what is right, even
when no one is looking. YMCA character development is about
a personal journey begun by YMCA staff and volunteers and others
who want their lives to stand for positive values associated
with the YMCA. We judge ourselves mostly by our good intentions,
but our character is measured by our behavior. This personal
journey offers the challenge to do a better job each day of
choosing the attitudes, words and behavior which reflect the
Y's core values. This will strengthen our capacity as a role
model and as a character builder. To this end we have teamed
with the local Character Courts movement to promote Trustworthiness,
Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship as
the values we will try to model. |
